The idea exchange is a unique opportunity given by the Goa government which can result in a very interesting variety of ideas. Goa has become a very cosmopolitan place which has already produced a multi-cultural explosion in many areas like retail, food and hospitality.

My thoughts are that because Goa has done so brilliantly in eliminating Covid-19 from its entire state, this achievement must be advertised copiously in the next few weeks by placing short ads on the many news channels which are getting huge viewership.

Knit into the ad has to be the message that Goa is now the ideal place, once again, for domestic guests who will be staggering out of their enforced quarantine shortly. Advertising and branding of Goa has been a disappointment. This should be considered as an essential component for our economic well-being and handled by the best professionals available.

Generally speaking, the visual optics of a holiday destination are vital. The entry point as in airports, railway stations or bus depots if given even cosmetic changes like stylish street furniture or a fresh coat of paint can turn around a drab space. Greenery is essential.

We have unfortunately a poorly designed modern airport, the ramp is irksome for senior citizens and often people board the wrong plane. Why not get experts to add 3/4 large lifts on the outer facade to bypass the ramp? When passengers exit out of the airport they are immediately accosted by dozens of cab drivers. This is most unpleasant. We could simply line up the cabs or have kiosks in the lobby so that things are managed in a smooth manner. First impressions count.
