The aspiration is to build support for better supply and consumption practices within communities. Businesses, as well as people use a lot of sustainability buzzwords, without any accountability, which is actually detrimental to the process. The food and hospitality industry, the biggest hogger of the term “organic” is actually most anti-organic and wasteful in its operations. In Goa, we can develop an objective system and tools of social pressure which can reward businesses for their efforts to preserve and promote community interests (and so indirectly penalize apathetic businesses), while also providing relevant facts to people for informed choice making.
