Rebranding Tourism in Goa

The discerning domestic tourists have been largely replaced with those that have a low level of interest in the cultural and natural heritage of Goa, and their spend potential is also very limited. The number of foreign tourists has also declined.
Goa needs to be rebranded as a destination of rich natural and cultural (both traditional and contemporary) heritage, and the entire tourism value proposition remodeled so as to generate sustainable livelihoods for a broad spectrum of local communities, while ensuring the long-term securitization of Goa’s natural and cultural heritage.
• The core of the rebranding would be to experience and celebrate Goa’s natural and cultural heritage, ‘gently’. A catchy campaign that has this at its core be launched, and the people of Goa invited to participate in co-creating this campaign.
