Electric Rickshaws

Electric rickshaws also known as electric tuk-tuks or e-rickshaws or toto, have been becoming more popular in some cities since 2008 as an alternative to auto rickshaws and pulled rickshaws because of their low fuel cost, and less human effort compared to pulled rickshaws. They are 3 wheelers pulled by an electric motor ranging from 650-1400 Watts.
My suggestion
1. All the petrol run rickshaws should be replaced by these eco-friendly rickshaws.
2. Right since the beginning these rickshaws should be made to charge mandatorily as per the meter readings only.
3. All existing rickshaw owners and pilots should be given 100% loans to buy or replace their vehicles with E-rickshaws. The loan can be recovered in easy instalments.
4. Solar run free or subsidised overnight charging stations should be established in every village, where owners can park and simultaneously charge their vehicle.
5. Number of licences in each area should be regulated right since the beginning with reference to the population and requirement of respective areas. This will ensure that all rickshaw owners are generating sufficient income for themselves.
1. Clean energy thus no pollution.
2. Only initial investment and very little maintenance cost will make the transport system highly efficient and pocket friendly.
3. A pocket friendly solution will inspire the masses to use the public transport and minimise use of personal vehicles.
4. Will largely resolve the commutation issue which Goa faces right now.
5. These rickshaw will not only reduce air pollution but also noise pollution as these do not make any noise.
6. This can be promoted as a USP in tourism sector. Moreover tourists will enjoy the ride which gives better view of the surroundings.
7. These are compact in size thus most suitable for the available infrastructure of Goa.
8. Will generate income for the needy.
9. Easy to manufacture, Goa can have its own manufacturing plant as well, which will further generate employment
