Craft needs to be reinvented as a way of life. It needs to be looked at as something more than an artifact or a souvenir. I believe that a lot of urban talk about mindful living is limited to consumption patterns. It rarely looks at occupations that help us slow down and consider slow living. A retreat of sorts, where people can come and work with their hands, learn new skills from traditional artisans can be a space where the two worlds meet with respect for each other, it can ignite creative ideas, a market space for products by master craftspeople. This space can be a vacation for people who look for connecting with their bodies and souls, a space for a vacation which is beyond chilling!
